A training course from the procedure called „A BLUE CARD” in borough.

On 5 th of March in 2012 took place a training about the procedure of A BLUE CARD. The training was conducted by Robert Lemański – a person who specializes in counteract the violence. About 40 persons took part in the training.

 

During the training, participants acquired a knowledge of setting up and leading A blue Card in situation when the violence appears in the family. Moreover, a target of the training was also propagating a social awareness about the restriction on violence, the procedure for the legal action and emphasizing the importance of institutions which work in families favour.

 

Family violence or domestic violence is the mistreatment of one family member by another to gain power and control. The violence can take on different forms:

 

  • Physical Abuse: slapping, punching, choking or throwing things
  • Emotional Abuse: yelling, making insults or threats
  • Sexual Abuse: such as unwanted touching, incest or rape
  • Neglect: withholding affection, money, food, health care or other needed care.

 

Family violence hurts the whole family!!!

 

The basic question is: what to do if you need to get out? It is very important to let someone you trust know what your problem is. It can be a friend, family member or counselor. You can get help from:

 

  • Social services
  • The Police Department
  • Women’s Group
  • Mental Health Centers
  • Your doctor, hospital, emergency room
  • Teachers, headmasters
  • A victim/witness program
  • A free legal clinic.

 

Remember, NO ONE has the right to abuse you!!!
